LAHORE: Customs authorities on Tuesday seized 143 used mobiles worth Rs 2,000,00 at the Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore and registered FIR against an accused under Customs Act 1969.
According to Customs officials, Muhammad Amir Khan of Chakwal was attempting to smuggle used mobile phones under pretext of personal luggage.
The customs authorities examined the language and found used mobile sets worth Rs 2,000,00. The customs officials said that the accused tried to mislead them.
They said that the accused failed to satisfy customs authorities over their clearance related queries. The customs authorities registered an FIR against the accused and further investigation is underway.
