Customs seizes 18,000 yards cloth, 12,000 liters motor oil

KARACHI: Hyderabad Modal Customs Collectorate foiled bids to smuggle cloth and Iranian motor oil in separate raids.

As per details, the modal customs collectorate received information the contraband material would be smuggled via a local bus. Consequently, he formed a team and start checking of vehicles surrounding the area of Gari Khata and intercepted a bus. During investigation, the team recovered 18,000 yard imported silk cloth. The officials seized the cloth and arrested the persons named Haroon Khan.

In another action, the customs team intercepted the oil tanker during the investigation of vehicles near the Meerpur Khas. During interrogation the team recovered 12000 liters smuggled oil. The team asked the driver about customs clearance documents but he remained failed to satisfy the officials. The team seized the oil and intercepted the driver, they told the estimated amount of oil Rs 15 million.
