DHAKA: Customs detectives have seized 40 gold bars from an aircraft of Emirates at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. The flight had arrived from Dubai, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate or CIID said in a statement.
Customs officials led the search on Wednesday, acting on a tip-off, it said. The bars were wrapped in black tapes and hidden inside a seat cover in the economy class. The bars, weighing 4.66kg in total, are worth Tk 23.3 million. No arrest was made.
