Customs seizes 400 cell phones worth Rs 9 million at Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD: The Customs officials have foiled an attempt to smuggle 400 smart phones worth Rs 9 million from Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad.

According to details, Deputy Collector Customs Shahid Jan told Customs Today that Pakistan Customs has tightened up security after receiving information regarding mobile phones smuggling.

As per details, during the searching of a baggage, the customs officials recovered 400 smart phones of different brands including Samsung, I-phones, Nokia, Huwaei, Q mobile etc from Saudi Arabian flight. After inquiring the owner of the baggage, no one claimed the ownership.

Shahid Jan added that customs staff seized all smart phones. He said that the customs has started investigation in this regard.
