Customs seizes contraband items worth Rs 9.4m in 7 days

ISLAMABAD: Under the supervision of Collector Arslan Subuctageen, the Model Customs Collectorate confiscated smuggled goods worth Rs 9.472 million during the first week of the current month, May 2016.

Officials said that anti-smuggling teams, following the directions of the collector, foiled many attempts in the region. They added that the department was working by tooth and nail to achieve the revenue target for the year.

During the said period, the collectorate seized contraband items, including 2028 kilogram of cloth valued at Rs 1.03 million, 235kg black tea worth Rs 190,575, electronics worth Rs 6.46 million, auto parts valued at Rs 54,075 and miscellaneous goods worth Rs 1.736 million.
