Customs seizes foreign currency hidden inside false bottom

COLOMBO: A businessman from Weligama attempting to smuggle foreign currency valued at Rs. 66 million hidden inside a false bottom in his baggage was arrested by customs officials at the Mattala International Airport yesterday.

The 35- year- old male had arrived at the Mattala Airport to board a flight to a middle eastern country, according to Customs Media Spokesman Lesley Gamini.
