Customs seizes gas cylinders worth Rs30m on Director Asif Marghoob’s directive

KARACHI: Custom Intelligence and Investigation has seized 100 gas cylinders of foreign origin SF-6 (4500 kilograms). The market value of the seized goods are Rs 30 million.

According to detail, on the directions of Director Custom Intelligence Asif Margoob Siddiqui, Additional Director Nadeem Ahsan and Assistant Director Kaleemullah formed a team headed by Superintendent Mahmood Abbas to confiscate  gas cylinders, which were not only causing loss to the national exchequer but also imposing negative impact on local traders.

The team comprising Deputy Superintendent Rana Insram Rabbani Munwar Ali, and Khuram Saeed raided on a railway godown and recovered 100 cylinders of SF-6 gas and arrested two persons who were identified as Shahid Amjad and Shafiq Awan

Talking to Customs Today, Deputy Superintendent Rana Insram said that they were performing duties in a fair-way, adding that Customs Intelligence ASO will not let the smugglers for carrying out their heinous activities.
