Customs seizes POL products & 24 NDP vehicles worth Rs102m in 15 days

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Quetta confiscated 96,238 litres of POL products whereas it seized 24 numbers of Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) vehicles valued Rs102million during the 1st to 15th of April of Financial Year (FY2016-17).
According to Dr. Saeed Jadoon, Collector MCC Quetta, the performance of Quetta collectorate has been good during the initial 15 days of April FY2016-17. During said period, the collectorate collected Rs658.000million All Duty and Taxes. During the current financial year up to 15th of April FY16-17, the collectorate collected Rs11556million All Duty and Taxes.
During nine months of FY2016-17, the MCC Quetta seized 1612,082 litres of smuggled Iranian diesel worth Rs91.136million whereas Quetta seized 2933,051 litres of smuggled diesel during the corresponding year 2015-16. The Auction Cell MCC Quetta earned Rs87.329million from the auction of smuggled diesel during nine months of FY2016-17 whereas the Quetta Auction Cell earned Rs143.08million from auction of diesel during same period of corresponding year 2015-16.
During July to March FY2016-17, the MCC Quetta seized smuggled diesel worth Rs91.136million while it seized smuggled Iranian diesel valued Rs175.4731million during same period of corresponding Financial year 2015-16. The MCC Quetta earned an amount of Rs56.97million all duty taxes and it earned Rs97.54million of duty taxes during same period of corresponding year 2015-16.
