Customs seizes scrap loaded container from Sadiqabad region

‏MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation have intercepted a container fully loaded with re-meltable scrap in an action.

Sources told Customs Today that the Customs Intelligence captured the container on a tip off. The Field Intelligence Unit of Sadiqabad region deployed staff at various strategic routes to foil the attempt of smuggling.

The Customs teams seized the container bearing registration number TAF-047/ Lasbella near the check post of Sadiqbad region. The driver provided the documents to customs staff which were found fake during verification process.

Customs teams recovered foreign origin stainless steel scrap magnetic along with container in the operation. The total weight of the foreign origin scrap was found 23.990 metric tons after examination of the container goods.

The recovered scrap used in the manufacturing of various goods due to remeltable feature and it is consumed in the manufacturing of many iron products in the local industry.

Customs intelligence seized the container by forming seizure report of the container. The net values of the estimated seized scrap were Rs1.5 million
