ISLAMABAD: The Customs Rapid Response Force Customs Collectorate seized 3000 kilogram of smuggled walnut with shell and 3000 seed of chilli along, 1000 sticks of foreign origin Dunhill plus other foreign origin smuggled goods along with offending vehicle from GT Road Rawalpindi.
Incharge Rapid Response Force (RRF) Shahrukh told Customs Today that on tip of information of Saeed Khan Jagoon Collector Model Customs Collectorate the RRF established a picket at GT Road Rawalpindi and intercepted a container loaded with foreign origin goods.
After interception the Customs RRF staff asked the possessors of foreign origin goods to show any documentary proof that loaded goods are tax paid but the notorious failed to provide any, the Shahrukh told that after getting no solid proof the RRF bring the container to the State Ware House (SWH) for further action.
He said that the smuggled goods were produced comprising 100 bags each comprises 30 kilogram of walnuts with shell net weight was estimated 3000 kilogram, 75 bags of seed of red chili each bags consisting of 40 kilogram net weight was 3000 kilogram, 1000 sticks of foreign origin Dunhill assorted flavors, 250 kilogram of foreign origin sprays, pads and LTVs.
He told that FIR has been logged against the possessors of foreign origin smuggled goods and case has been forwarded to Investigation and prosecution department for further action, he added the estimated value of seized goods was approximately Rs.2.00 million while goods estimated value was approximately Rs.2.5 million.
Shahrukh Butt told that the said seizer was led by Superintendent Abdul Malaak, Inspector Shahrukh Butt and other customs staff of class iv.
