Customs seizes smuggled goods

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) of Preventive has seized huge quantity of smuggled merchandise goods and Iranian POL products that was arriving from Balochistan through buses from RCD Highway, a statement said.

The statement issued by the Customs media cell said as a result of the fresh drive against smuggled goods launched under the directives of Customs Collector Preventive S M Tariq Huda, the Anti-Smuggling Organisation with the assistance of Pakistan Rangers has succeeded in seizing huge quantity of smuggled merchandise goods and POL products worth millions of rupees on November 1.

The seized smuggled/non-duty paid goods included LED TVs, 89 sets valuing Rs41,52,407; 41 new tyres valuing Rs614,474; 70 CNG cylinders valuing Rs6,74,160, 450 tyres old and used valuing Rs 7,89,912; 40 rolls of sofa cloth valuing Rs6,52,960; two Hino Cabin valuing Rs220,000; two Hilux Cabin valuing Rs120,000; 30 engines old and used valuing Rs 377,400; 145 shocks of Rs135,256; eight auto parts bags valuing Rs149,248; assorted parts valuing Rs10,000; five seats valuing Rs2,500; nine plastic scrap valuing Rs5,000; assorted plastic accessories valuing Rs7,000; 20 old and used headlights valuing Rs2,000; and Iranian diesel valuing Rs627,000.
