Customs Intelligence seizes smuggled items worth Rs5.4m in 10 days

LAHORE: Customs Collectorate of Intelligence and Investigation has seized millions of contraband and illegal goods and articles in first ten days of February.

According to data available with Customs Today, Customs seized 300 cartons of fresh Iranian dates from a Hino Truck No TKG-456 while in another raid Customs impounded silicon steel sheets in coils from a Mazda Mini Truck No FWD 5567.

The Collectorate seized iron and steel tin sheet in coils from a Mazda Mini Tuck No LWN 5238 while in another raid power generator worth Rs 0.5 million from Hyundai Shahzoor registration No RLC 8012 was confiscated.

Similarly the Directorate seized 14170 yards of smuggled Korean-made cloth, 34 tyres, 20 cartons of ball bearings and 125 litres lubricating oil. The Collectorate also seized 50 cartons of Dunhill, Benson & Hedges cigarettes.

The total value of impounded goods and articles estimated at Rs 5,429868.
