Customs thwarts attempt to smuggle heroin to Canada

SIALKOT: Customs Intelligence has foiled a major attempt of smuggling heroin to Canada from Sialkot, during a special checking at General Post Office (GPO) Sialkot.

A Fatehgarh-Defence Road Sialkot based accused Rashid booked a parcel at Sialkot GPO carrying the dental surgical instruments for Canada. When on a tip off, Customs Intelligence officials started special checking of the consignment, they detected as many as half kg fine quality heroin worth millions of rupees in the parcel. The heroin was secretly packed in the dental surgical instruments.
