Customs to collect revenue of Rs1247m during Dec

ISLAMABAD: Customs Collectorate Islamabad has assigned revenue collection target amounting to Rs.1247 million under head of all duty taxes for month of December financial year (FY2016-17).

Collector Dr. Arslan Subactageen told Customs Today that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has been assigned revenue collection target amounting Rs.465 million under head of customs duty for month of December FY2016-17.

He said that the Board have assigned revenue collection amounting Rs.423 millions under head of sales tax for month of December FY16-17, adding that MCC also assigned target amounting Rs.348 million under head of with holding tax (WHT).

He said that MCC have been assigned revenue collection amounting to Rs.11 million under head of federal excise duty for month of December FY16-17 adding that the performance regarding collection under head of all duty taxes was satisfactory during month of November 2016-17, he said that Collectorate achieved its assigned revenue target with 100% collection.

He said that during said that during month of November FY16-17 the Collectorate collected revenue amounting Rs.436.806 million under head of customs duty against the assigned target of amounting Rs.436 million.

The collector said that during November the Collectorate collected revenue amounting Rs.413 million under head of Sales tax (ST) against the assigned target of amounting Rs.397 million.

He said that during November FY16-17 the MCC collected revenue amounting Rs.218.240 million under head of Income Tax (IT) against the assigned target under head of IT was amounting Rs.268.00 million.

Dr.Arslan said that during month of November the MCC Islamabad collected amounting Rs.89.249 million under head of Federal Excise Duty (FED) against the assigned target of amounting Rs.7.00 million.

Collector said that MCC is making crack down against NDP, Offending and smugglers adding that he has advised the ASO and Car cell to make more and more seizers, he said that he also advised the DC auction to make another auction before ending of current month December FY16-17.

He said that all the departments like Air Freight Unit (AFU), Dry port Islamabad and Preventive Departments have already advised to make every effort to meet the target of 2nd quarter of financial year FY2016-17, adding that he is optimistic to achieve the target of all duty taxes assigned for month of December FY16-17.
