Customs to destroy contraband in 15 containers at PICT

KARACHI: The Collector, Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement (East) Najeeb-ur-Rehman Abbasi through a public order has given approval to the authorities concerned of Pakistan Customs-FBR for destruction of contraband/expired seized goods at PICT.

According to the details, all arrangements have been finalized by Customs authorities and goods would be destroyed next week.

When contacted, Additional Collector-PICT Muhammad Tahir confirmed that the Collector-MCC Appraisement (East) has approved the destruction of seized expired and contraband items, adding that the destruction would likely to be done at PICT.

ADC-Muhammad Tahir further informed Customs Today that around 15 containers containing expired goods including chemicals, food items and others are present at PICT, adding that experts relating to departments concerned like environmental and others would also be present on the occasion.
