Customs to hold auction of vehicles, goods on December 7

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate will hold auction of confiscated items including vehicles, LCDs, TVs, cloth, perfumes, cosmetics, wood, welding roods and beauty kits on December 7, 2016 at Customs Warehouse situated in sector G12.

The auction will be supervised by Deputy Collector Aniqa Afzal, while revenue of Rs 40 million is expected through this auction.

Forty five non-duty paid vehicles, including Toyota Double cabin, Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Crown, Nissan Double cabin, Toyota Surf, Mercedes Ambulance, Mercedes car, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Hiace and Mitsubishi Pajero, and 54 lots of confiscated smuggled goods will be presented for auction.

He said that bidders mostly from Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Islamabad will be participating in the said auction, adding that all the preparation for holding auction have been finalised.

He said that all successful bidders will have to deposit 25 percent of the total amount on the spot to customs officials who will present there. The bidders will have to pay 10 percent income tax along with his computerised national identity card (CNIC) at the time of auction, while the bidder have to pay remaining amount within seven working days of the auction.

He said that it will be third auction of financial year 2016-17 and it will be one of the biggest auction and help in generating revenue.
