KARACHI: The authorities of the Directorate General of Afghan Transit Trade (ATT) are going to hold some important meetings today (March 11) with the representatives of transport operators, clearing agents and TPL Tracker company with a view to add new carriers as per Afghan Pakistan Transit Trade Co-ordination Authority (APTTCA) decisions and to review the performance of TPL Tracker Company.
The meetings would be attended by Director General of the Directorate General of Transit Trade Khawar Farid Maneka, Director-Transit Trade Wajid Ali and Additional Director-Transit Trade Javed Chaudhry.
The meeting with the representatives of transport operators and clearing agents would be held in Conference Hall at 5th Floor, while the meeting with the representatives of TPL Tracker Company would be held in the Chamber of the Director Transit Trade, located at 12th floor of the Custom House.
The sources informed Customs Today that the Customs authorities would convene series of meetings with the representatives of Pak-Afghan Liaison Committee at Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta and technical level working group for resolving operational issues of Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (APTTA) and issues pertaining to collect duty/taxes at Pakistan Sea ports on Afghan Transit Cargo and single revolving guarantee on Afghan Transit Goods.
The sources further informed that the meetings with the representatives of Pak-Afghan Liaison Committee and technical level working group would be held on March-12 in the Conference Room of Chief Collector, Appraisement (South) Nasir Masroor Ahmed.
Earlier, the authorities concerned of the Directorate General of Transit Trade have already convened meetings with the Director Risk Management Unit (RMU) and the Director Reforms & Automation on March-10.
The issues pertaining to the scanning of Afghan Transit Trade Cargo would come under discussion.
The sources revealed this scribe that the authorities concerned were considering to conduct 20per cent scanning of Afghan Transit Cargo instead of 100per cent, as it was already decided in the 5th meeting of Afghan-Pakistan Transit Trade Co-ordination Authority (APTTCA), which was held in Islamabad, early in the year-2015.
