Customs to monitor intra-port movement of shipments, cargo by WeBOC

KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs has decided to ensure monitoring of intra-port movement of shipments and cargo online with the help of WeBOC, it is learnt.

In this regard, the Directorate of Reforms and Automation has been assigned the task to finalize the arrangement related to the development and ensure that the new system would be more effective, official sources told Customs Today.

In the past, there were reports that the items from shipments went missing or the container were blocked, however, with the new system, the importer as well as the customs authorities would check online the status of shipments, cargo at the port online through WeBOC, sources added.

Moreover, the movements of shipments would also be closely monitored by the IT experts from the Custom Hosue, according to sources.
