Customs to present alleged heroin smuggler before Customs Court today

LAHORE: The Customs Investigation team will produce the alleged smuggler involved in smuggling of 310 gram of heroin through a parcel booked for Spain at General Post Office (GPO) Lahore before the Customs Court on Tuesday (today).

The officials would ask the court to send the accused on physical remand for interrogation in order to find the other suspects in the case.

The officials informed that the said parcel was allegedly booked by a person named Zeeshan, a resident of Baghbanpura, who was in custody of the customs.

In early interrogation, Zeeshan told that his identity card was lost few days ago, which was misused by the unknown accused. The officials said that the Investigation and Prosecution team was using all resources to catch the real culprit behind this crime and also investigating the statement of arrested accused person regarding the misuse of his ID card.

They said that CCTV footage revealed that two men visited the GPO and booked the parcel carrying heroin for Spain.
