Customs Torkham collects Rs 22,490m in first quarter of FY2016-17

ISLAMABAD: The Customs station Torkham collected total value of revenue amounting to Rs 22,490.4 million during the first quarter of the financial year 2016-17.

According to Additional Deputy Collector Fazle Samad, during the first quarter of the financial year 2016-17 the performance of Torkham border was satisfactory but lower than the corresponding year 2015-16.

He said that total value of revenue collection is lower than previous fiscal year for the reason of tension at Pak-Afghan Border, Torkham since the new financial year 16-17 started.

He added that during the month of July 16-17 the Custom station collected revenue under value of Rs4986.63 million alongside the value of revenue collection as Rs 8,688.95 million during same period of corresponding year 2015-16.

He said that in August FY 16-17 value of revenue collection was Rs7373.19 million against the collection of Rs 9,985.58 million during same period of corresponding year August, 2015-16.

Additional Deputy Collector said that in September FY 2016-17 the Torkham Customs collected revenue under value of Rs10130.58 million and during the same period in FY 2015-16 the Customs station collected revenue amounting of Rs6663.75 million.

He added that during first quarter of financial year 2016-17 the Torkham Customs station collected total revenue under value of Rs22490.40 million and during the same period in corresponding year 2015-16 the total revenue collection was under value of Rs25338.28 million, he adding that Torkham excel in value during financial year 2015-16 with the difference of Rs2848 against the value collected in FY 2016-17.
