Customs Torkham collects Rs 810m during July-August: Additional Collector Fazal-e-Samad

ISLAMABAD: Torkham station of Peshawar Customs Collectorate collected Rs 810 million during the first two months of the financial year 2016-17. The amount is collected under the head of customs duty, sales tax , including advance income taxes from July to August, 2016-17.

Additional Collector Fazal-e-Samad told Customs Today that performance of the Torkham station remained satisfactory during the period. He said that Torkham station collected Rs 268.80 million as custom duty in July-August this year as compared to Rs 285.16 million during the same period of the previous financial year.

He said that during the months of July-August 2016-17 Torkham collected Rs 181 million under the head of sales tax while Rs 213.92 million were collected during the same period of the previous year.

Deputy collector said that Torkham station gathered Rs 330.53 million under the head of advance income tax, while Rs 232.58 million were collected during the first two months of FY 2015-16.

He said that in financial year 2016-17 the Torkham station collected total duty and taxes including federal excise duty, sales tax, AIT and income tax under value of Rs 810 million while Torkham station collected Rs 763.06 million during FY 2015-16.
