LAHORE: The customs tribunal has appointed member technical Imran Ahmad after two years. The orders of appointment were issued six months ago but the member could not take charge as he was attending the training courses.
The sources revealed that officers avoid getting appointment here at tribunal due to lack of facilities. The customs tribunal has not been providing security for many years even after repeated requests.
It is important to mentions that Customs Today has been writing about the vacant post of technical member for months. The appellants had to face problems due to the incomplete bench.
The bench-I of the tribunal was already completed as it had member technical Umar Mehdi and member judicial Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti. On the other hand, the bench-II had only one member judicial Umar Arshad and post of member technical was vacant that filled recently after the appointment of Imran Ahmad as Member Technical.
