Customs Tribunal disposes of case against collector Customs

LAHORE: The Customs Appellate Tribunal has dismissed the case of Al Hajj Muhammad Akram versus collector customs Airport Lahore on the ground that the case is not according to the law.

According to details, Al Hajj Muhammad Akram challenged the decision of Customs Adjudication in Customs Appellate Tribunal in which he was fined.

The Customs Appellate Tribunal stated in the judgment that the amount of fine involved in the instant case is less then Rs 50,000. Therefore, the exercising discretion under the clause (iii) section 194-A of the Customs Act 1969, the tribunal refuses to admit the plea and the case is disposed of.

Customs Appellate Tribunal chairman/member judicial and member technical Khawaja Omer Mehdi signed on verdict.
