Lahore Customs Appellate Tribunal to remain closed until Jan 5 due to winter vacations

LAHORE: The Customs Appellate Tribunal Lahore will remain closed till January 5, 2015 due to winter vacations and cases will be heard after holidays.

Holidays at the tribunal started from December 23, 2014 and will end on January 5, 2015. These holidays are given to honorable judges and members every year by the government.

It is important to mention that there are also summer vacations for the honorable judges but courts are not closed totally as one judge is replaced with another judge to run the court work.

Now, all appeals of the correspondents in customs appellate tribunals will be heard after vacations and passed judgments will also be released after vacations as the dispatch riders and other lower staff is also enjoying winter vacations.

There are two benches in customs tribunal Lahore bench I and bench II to hear the appeals of people. The bench I has Technical Member Umar Mehdi and Judicial Member Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti, while the bench II has only one Member Umar Arshad who would be availing holidays.
