LAHORE: Customs House Upper Division Clerks (UDCs) and Lower Division Clerks (LDC) have urged the federal government to revise their scales as per provincial grades.

On the condition of anonymity the Customs UDCs and LDCs told Customs Today that provincial governments have revised the scales of their staff from BS-11 into BS-14. Over 500 UDCs and LDCs are awaiting for revision in their scales similar to that of the provincial scales.

However, the federal government is yet to issue notification in this regard.

They said Basic Pay Scale of UDCs and LDCs working under federal control are not upgraded as upgraded by all provincial’s governments in 2014, BS-11 to BS-14, BS-07 to BS-09 respectively.

Recently, the Government of Pakistan, Finance Division (Regulation Wing), Islamabad upgraded the UDSs and LDCs of only a Federal Controlled University i.e. Karakoram International University vide letter F. No. 1(2)R-1/2019/364 dated 04.09.2019 (with back benefits).

All other federal ministries and departments’ clerks are waiting for many years to be upgraded to BPS as per other provincial governments doing away with the disparity.
