Valuation Dept determines Customs value of hot melt adhesives

KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation has determined the values of hot melt adhesive glue stick, granules, chips, pellets under Section 25-A of the Customs Act, 1969 under PCT 3506.9190  vide Valuation Ruling No.739/2015.

It may be mentioned here that the Valuation Department was referred with a number of cases of hot melt adhesives for the determination of the customs values.

Meetings were convened with the stake holders  and importers including the representatives of trade bodies on April 22, 2015 and May 5, 2015 to discuss the current international prices of subject goods, wherein their views were also sought regarding valuation.

The hot melt adhesive glue stick of all origin under PCT 3506.9190 would be assessed to duty and taxes at $1.60 per kg; hot melt adhesive granules/chips pellets etc of China, Middle East, Far East excluding Japan under PCT 3506.9190 would be assessed to duty and taxes at $3.50 per kg; of Japan, USA, Canada and Europe at $4.0 per kg and all other origins at $3.60 per kg.
