Customs Valuation issues VR 938/2016 revising values of chemicals

KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation has issued latest customs values of several chemicals vide Valuation Ruling No.938/2016 under Section 25-A of the Customs Act, 1969.

The customs values of chemicals were earlier determined vide Valuation Ruling No. 794/2016 dated January 15, 2016.

There were several representations from different importers/traders and trade bodies i.e. Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA), for determination of customs values of the chemicals.

The department initiated an exercise following the concerns of traders regarding the values of various chemicals, to determine the latest values of chemicals.

The department revised the values of boric acid, aluminium oxide, chromic acid, barium chloride, sodium meta bisuphite, etc.
