LAHORE: Czech model Teresa, arrested for attempting to smuggle heroin to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has changed her statement.
The 21-year-old model was taken into custody from the Allama Iqbal International Airport in January when she attempted to smuggle 9kg heroin to UAE. Drugs worth Rs150 million were recovered from her luggage.
The woman had managed to pass through two security checks when the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and Customs officials took her in custody after finding the contraband. In April, the foreigner was indicted for smuggling heroin.
The model had earlier confessed to smuggling heroin to UAE but now, she said that she had come to Pakistan to do research on Islam. The model has also started wearing traditional Pakistani clothes and a shawl.
