WARSAW: Warren Buffet’s fast food chain Dairy Queen will open its first restaurants in Poland in September. The chain will be operated by Sparrow 4, a unit of Bastion Venture Fund.
The firm wants to open ten Dairy Queen restaurants in the first year of operations, after which it will decide what business development model to pursue, Sparrow 4 CEO Andrzej Uryga said.
Poland is the first European market for Dairy Queen. Dairy Queen’s competitors welcome the new player with calm. Dairy Queen is entering the market rather late and the process of building a brand is time-consuming and costly, AmRest restaurant operator management board member Wojciech Mroczynski said.
