Dar congratulated on Pakistan’s status of emerging markets

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif congratulated Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and his team on reports of Pakistan attaining the status of emerging markets.

“The status of emerging markets to Pakistan is a reflection of our prudent economic policies and strong financial discipline,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister in a message extended heartiest congratulations to the whole economic team who has worked hard day and night to turn around the economic outlook of Pakistan, and added it was being acknowledged by the whole world now.

The Prime Minister said all major economic indicators were showing historic improvements.

“Today our foreign currency reserves are highest in history and similarly inflation the lowest. Pakistan is set to achieve 5% annual growth almost after a decade.”

The Prime Minister said the pro-growth budget set by financial managers would further reap socio-economic benefits for the country and soon Pakistan would be in line with strong emerging economies of the world.

“I congratulate the financial team, investors, businessmen and entrepreneurs on attaining the status of emerging markets,” the Prime Minister said.
