Dar directs FBR to facilitate taxpayers to promote tax culture

ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting to review the progress with regard to the preparation and finalization of the coming budget. FBR Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan briefed the meeting on different proposals submitted by various trade and industry bodies, chambers and associations, for inclusion in the budget 2016-17.

He also gave an account of the recommendations made by the Tax Reform Commission. Haroon Akhtar , Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue said that the spade work for the  budget has been completed and consultations with different spheres including chambers of commerce and different ministries of the government have been undertaken to make sure that  views of all the stakeholders are heard before finalizing the budget proposals.

Ishaq Dar appreciated the efforts of the team of the Federal Board of Revenue and directed that FBR should ensure that people are not adversely affected by tax measures. He also directed that the FBR may also continue to pursue the aim of taxpayers facilitation to promote tax culture. Haroon Akhtar, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Division and senior officials of Ministry of Finance and Federal Board of Revenue participated in the meeting.
