Dar directs FBR to take action on business community’s tax proposals

ISLAMABAD: With the aim to facilitate traders, Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has directed Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to seriously consider and take action on tax proposals given by the business community.

The minister directed the revenue authority to especially consider six major taxation proposals of the business community covering imposition of the regulatory duty (RD) on the import of polyester yarn/fabrics and abolish sales tax on services from units registered as exporters.

According to the official sources, the Ministry of Finance is giving much importance to the proposals forwarded by the business community, selecting six of their suggestions on priority basis.

As per the Finance Ministry’s order issued to the FBR, the ministry has compiled a list of suggestions/recommendations made by members of the business community during their meetings with the finance minister. Dar has desired that these suggestions may be examined and appropriate action be suggested by the FBR.
