Dar refutes reports regarding NAB investigation against him

LAHORE: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has refuted the media reports about that the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) investigations against him.

Responding to media person after addressing a seminar on “The Role of Islamic Banking in Economic Development of Pakistan” here, he stated that those media organisations, which published and on-aired such news, had already contradicted these reports. Dar also said that he served the country as finance minister for four times and he could be held responsible for any sort of corruption.

He added that in 2014, the High Court had also thrown such cases against him in the dustbin that again proved his innocence and non-indulgence in corruption.

To another question, the finance minister said new taxes had been imposed only on imported luxury items and these taxes did not cause any dearness instead it reduced prices of several items.
