Dar reviews status of foreign financing for projects

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has reviewed the status of foreign financing for projects in the country.

Secretary Economic Affairs Division (EAD) briefed the Minister on the progress of various projects and programs being funded by bilateral and multilateral development partners.

It was noted that most foreign funded projects were progressing smoothly as per the agreed timelines. The Minister was also briefed about the upcoming Joint Ministerial meetings with various countries and the issues to be discussed during these meetings. Finance Minister directed EAD to regularly monitor the foreign funded projects to ensure that implementation delays are avoided.

The minister also directed EAD to carry out extensive inter departmental consultations prior to the up-coming JMCs so as to derive the maximum benefit from these bilateral meetings.
