ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar has said that the government achieved the revenue collection targets till the third quarter of ongoing fiscal year with 20 per cent growth rate.
Talking to a private news channel, he said the government collected Rs 297 billion revenue against the set target of Rs 230 billion from the month of January to March this year which reflects sincere measures being taken in the sector.
The minister said special privileges have also been reduced which were being enjoyed by the elite class of the country. The reduction has also added sufficient amount of revenue to the treasure, he said.
Ishaq Dar said that some reforms in laws of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) were also introduced which helped raise tax collection. He said that the huge funds were allocated for infrastructure development projects in the country. Maximum relief would be given to the masses in upcoming budget, he added.
