LONDON: Could dark matter have an extremely dark history indeed? It could according one scientist who believes that the elusive substance, which makes up a quarter of the universe but is almost imperceptible to astronomers, may have caused the extinction of the dinosaurs.
Michael Rampino, a biologist from New York University, has noticed that our planet’s galactic passages through what are believed to be concentrations of dark matter seem to coincide with extinction events.
