Dastgir inaugurates 6th Interiors Pakistan Exhibition

LAHORE: Federal Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir has said the government will provide all possible support to Pakistan furniture industry so that it can exhibit products at international level.

He said this while talking to the media, after inaugurating 6th Interiors Pakistan Exhibition, arranged by Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) at Expo Centre here. “Purpose of the exhibition is that the people associated with this industry could see each other’s work while it will also help in developing trust of the people visiting this exhibition in Pakistani furniture products,” he added.

He said people would also come to know that quality products are being manufactured in Pakistan with the best designs.

Khurram said in the coming days, designing and value addition would have great importance and the best designs have been exhibited at the exhibition. He said it would also help the people of those areas where designs were not in focus that there was a lot of space to work in this sector.

The minister said more improvement in this industry would not only help in meeting local needs but would enable to meet needs of international market. “All support would be provided for taking this exhibition to other countries,” he added.

Later, the minister also visited various stalls of the exhibition. Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mian Kashif Ashfaq said that Pakistan furniture industry has made great strides over the past recent years. Owing to a growing interior industry that have paved way for skilled workers, furniture manufacturers and interior designers have benchmarks that has attracted foreign clientele.
