Davao region imports down by 33% in Q3 2016

TAIPEI: Imports made by Davao Region for the third quarter of 2016 decreased by 33.03 percent to 376.45 million US dollars (USD) from USD562.16 million in the same period in 2015. Among the top import commodities of the region include other medium oils and preparations at USD33.33 million, lights oils and preparations at USD19.93 million, and unbleached Kraftliner at USD19.31 million. Also imported in the region are other bars and rods at USD 18.88 million and urea, whether or not in aqueous solution, at USD13.06 million.

There was also a 15.75 percent increase in the import value of medium oils compared to the value during the third quarter of 2015. Semi-chemical fluting paper are at USD11.80 million, followed by semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel containing weight less than 0.25 percent of carbon at almost USD11.33 million. Fungicides were imported at USD10.73 million, other coals aside from anthracite and bituminous coal at USD10.09 million.

Indonesia comes in second at USD39.15 million. Imports made with United States were at USD28.28 million, Japan at USD18.51, and Singapore at USD17.32 million. Still included in the major sources of imports in the region are Malaysia at USD17.20 million, South Korea at USD15.23 million, Thailand at USD13.29 million, Vietnam at USD12.30 million, and Taiwan at USD12.17 million.
