BERLIN: Germany stocks were higher after the close, as gains in theConstruction, Media and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 2.88% to hit a new 1-month high, while theMDAX index climbed 2.59%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.97%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Merck KGAA O.N. (DE:MRCG), which rose 6.51% or 5.150 points to trade at 84.210 at the close. Meanwhile,Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 4.98% or 3.240 points to end at 68.340 andBayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was up 4.25% or 4.750 points to 116.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn), which fell 1.80% or 0.445 points to trade at 24.290 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) added 1.13% or 0.145 points to end at 12.925 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 1.25% or 2.200 points to 177.800.
The top performers on the MDAX were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which rose 5.16% to 48.165, Krones AG O.N. (DE:KRNG) which was up 4.82% to settle at 106.500 and Kuka AG (DE:KU2G) which gained 4.35% to close at 74.170.
The worst performers were Wincor Nixdorf O.N. (DE:WING) which was down 2.38% to 45.000 in late trade, Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (DE:SZUG) which lost 0.70% to settle at 17.610 and Gagfah SA Nom. (DE:GFJG) which was down 0.66% to 15.800 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which rose 4.28% to 5.390, Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which was up 4.06% to settle at 9.990 and Jenoptik AG O.N. (DE:JENG) which gained 3.43% to close at 14.485.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 1.50% to 26.200 in late trade, Kontron AG O.N. (DE:KBCG) which lost 0.71% to settle at 2.937 andSTRATEC Biomedical AG (DE:SBSG) which was down 0.48% to 50.050 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 577 to 115 and 36 ended unchanged.
