Deputy Collector Amjad Aman recovers cellular phones worth Rs 3.4m

KARACHI: Customs Collectorate Preventive, under the leadership of Deputy Collector, Arrivals, Jinnah International Airport Karachi, Amjad Aman Leghari foiled a bid to smuggle 328 cellular phones worth Rs 3.4 million.

According to details, the staff of the Pakistan Customs posted under the supervision of Deputy Collector Amjad Aman Leghari arrested two passengers namely Arshad and Shariq and recovered 328 cellular phones worth Rs 3.4 million from them. The suspects had arrived from Dubai by Emirates Airline Flight No EK-604.

The recovered cellular phones were cleverly concealed in LCD TV panels/casing. FIRs have been lodged in the Court of Special Judge, Customs and Taxation Karachi and obtained their physical remand. Further investigations are underway, sources added.
