DC Asma issues notice in impounded Honda car case

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed has issued a show cause notice to the suspect allegedly involved in smuggling of Honda Aria car.

As per details, the Faisalabad Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) signaled to stop a Honda Aria car bearing Registration No AJQ-848 near Gutwala Toll Plaza Sheikhpura Road, but the driver did not stop and escaped. The ASO staff started chasing the vehicle and held it, but the driver fled away from the scene.

ASO Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya along with his team impounded the vehicle and sent the case to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.

Therefore, Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued notice to unknown accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969. The adjudication also directed the person to file his reply by December 3, 2016.

Asma Hameed also directed the customs officials to submit reply in the impounded vehicle’s case for further proceedings. She also directed ASO Deputy Collector (DC), Muhammad Rizwan to attend the hearing on the scheduled date along with relevant record.
