DC Inamullah Wazir’s Customs JIAP foils bid to smuggle heroin from Peshawar to UK worth Rs19m

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), International Mail Office, recovered 1 kilo and 980 grams of fine quality heroin which was tactfully hidden in a parcel destined for Birmingham United Kingdom. The parcel was booked from Peshawar. The market value of recovered heroin is Rs19 million in international market.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Customs Irfanur Rehman received credible information that huge quantity of fine quality heroin will be smuggled through parcel. He directed Additional Collector Farah Farooq to take all necessary measures to thwart any attempt of smuggling. A anti-smuggling squad was constituted under the supervision of Deputy Collector Jinnah International Airport Inamullah Wazir. The intercepted a parcel which was booked for Birmingham United Kingdom.
