LFU DC Tauqeer Dar orders customs officials to wear uniform on duty

LAHORE: Pakistan Customs Land Freight Unit (LFU) Lahore Deputy Collector Tauqeer Dar has instructed all the customs staff to wear their official uniform during duty timings.

DC Dar said that Additional Collector Sadia Muneeb has observed while surveying the LFU that most of the officials like inspectors, superintendents and other lower staff were performing their duties in casual clothes instead of wearing the prescribed uniform.

Dar said that the uniform of Pakistan Customs is a sign of employment in a particular department.

It seems unethical that employees of prestigious customs department, especially at the border, do not wear uniforms, which represent the department, he added.

As per the orders, it has been conveyed to all employees to follow the instructions regarding uniform. He said that non-compiler shall be sent to the headquarters for punishment.
