Deadline for amnesty scheme may be extended till 31st

ISLAMABAD: The government is likely to further extend the last date for availing Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS), announced for business community, till March 31.

However, 0.4 percent withholding tax on all banking transactions of non-filers may not be changed during this period.

It is pertinent to mention that the government had already extended the deadline for availing VTCS by 15 days till March 15. The Federal Board of Revenue also increased concessionary rate from 0.3 percent withholding tax to 0.4 percent on banking transactions of non-filers from March 1, 2016.
