LAHORE: The deadline for submitting token tax on vehicles without fine, announced by the Excise and Taxation Department, is going to end today (May 31).
The department had extended the time to facilitate the people who could not deposit token tax during last duration. After the expiry of the current date, all defaulters will have to pay tax with fine.
According to the details, the department had issued a notification to waive off the fine on token tax until May, 2016, stating that the vehicles’ owners those who failed to pay their token tax would be able to get a chance to pay their pending amount without any fine.
According to Punjab Excise Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal, the department had taken this initiative to facilitate the citizens to pay their taxes. This notification was applicable on all categories of vehicles.
