NEW YORK: Dell has revealed the expansion of its tablet portfolio with the introduction of Venue 10 7000 tablet. The tablet is joined by an optional keyboard dock, which turns it into a full work machine.

The company is hoping the tablet with its form factor and usage configurations like tablet, slate, stand, tent or clamshell will entice both regular consumers and enterprise users.

“Dell customers want more from their tablets. They want to be productive and get work done wherever they are, they want a great entertainment experience, and they want to carry something that turns heads. The Venue 10 7000 gives our customers all that and more: enhanced productivity with a full-sized keyboard and Android for Work, a brilliant display and innovative features like the Intel RealSense snapshot depth camera, all wrapped in a gorgeous design,” said Neil Hand, vice president, Dell Tablet Group.

The Dell Venue 10 7000 sports a 10.5-inch OLED 2560x1600p screen and is powered by quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor. It also packs Intel RealSense snapshot depth camera, which was also present in the company’s 8-inch Venue 8 7000 tablet. RealSense records the depth map for every captured image in the tablet and allows for selective re-focusing and measurement functions.

Dell has also packed front-firing stereo speakers in the Lenovo Yoga tablet-like cylindrical bottom, which also houses a 7000 mAh battery. Venue 10 7000 runs on Android 5.0 and features an almost stock user-interface with couple of pre-installed Dell apps.

Availability and pricing:

According to Dell, the Venue 10 7000 has been priced at $499.00 ($629.00 with keyboard dock) and will be available on Dell.com in the U.S., Canada and China in May 2015. There is no word on the release elsewhere at this moment.
