BEIJING: Delta Air Lines CEO Richard Anderson said this week that he wants the airline to develop an international hub in Shanghai to cater to the fast-growing Chinese market.
Bloomberg reports on the comments, which were made in a recorded message to Delta (NYSE: DAL) employees over the weekend. “As we plan for our long-term future, it becomes more clear every day that China will be a major part of our business,” he said in the message.
The model for the Chinese hub would be something like Delta’s European hub at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport.
