Denmark shares higher at close of trade

COPENHAGEN: Denmark equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Financials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Copenhagen, the OMX Copenhagen 20 rose 1.23% to hit a new 6-month high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Copenhagen 20 were Danske Bank A/S (CO:DANSKE), which rose 2.98% or 7.0 points to trade at 241.8 at the close. TDC A/S (CO:TDC) added 2.55% or 0.91 points to end at 36.54 and GN Store Nord (CO:GN) was up 2.34% or 3.9 points to 170.3 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Novo Nordisk A/S B (CO:NOVOb), which added 0.12% or 0.3 points to trade at 250.0 in late trade. Pandora A/S (CO:PNDORA) added 0.50% or 3.5 points to end at 705.5 and Dong Energy A/S (CO:DENERG) gained 0.67% or 1.80 points to 268.80.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 28 and 11 ended unchanged on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.79% or 0.39 to $49.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.57% or 0.30 to hit $52.14 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.01% or 13.06 to trade at $1276.04 a troy ounce.

USD/DKK was down 1.10% to 6.8550, while EUR/DKK rose 0.05% to 7.4391.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 99.03.
