Denmark’s Dansk Supermarked restructuring measurs to cost 150 employees

COPENHAGEN:  In an official statement, Dansk Supermarked announced that the company is going to decrease around 150 employees due to restructuring of its organization. Further adding, that company’s signals intent to become the most competitive retailer in the country in a cost-effective way. It said that as many people as possible will be offered another job.Dansk Supermarked operates retail stores such as Føtex, Bilka, Netto, and Salling.

Dansk Supermarked is Denmark’s largest retailer, with a 34.9 percent market share in the supermarket sector. It employs about 45,000 employees in five countries, of which 35,000 work in Denmark. Dansk Supermarked is currently undergoing structural changes in a bid to become the most competitive retailer in the country. An integral part of the company’s strategy is a strong focus on doing business in the most cost-effective way.
