KARACHI: The water shortage in Karachi, which has been deprived of around 250 million gallons per day, may worsen as the functioning of all the pumping stations of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) remained stopped for over eight hours due to the countrywide power breakdown.

A KWSB official, “Due to the breakdown, the metropolis was deprived of around 250 million gallons per day.” He warned Karachi’s residents to be economical in their use of water for the next four days, saying that it was possible that there may be no water supply for some parts of the city.
